Hey there, I’m Roxy Vélez!

I’m a Creative and Art Director who enjoys working on projects that make a positive impact. With a background in motion and graphic design, as well as project management, I’m all about staying organized and bringing creative visions to life with clarity and purpose.

My path has been defined by a willingness to evolve, and the drive to leave a positive mark with my work.

A daily life filled with creativity, diabetic cat tales, and the occasional thrill of boxing – that's me!

The Story So Far

1987

Born and raised in beautiful Cuenca-Ecuador, I was that kid that loved the unpopular, new things. I’ve been creatively curious for as long as I can remember. Always loved cats, we always had kittys at home growing up. #catteam here. Not much has changed…except I eat way more veggies now and I punch boxing bags for fun!

After graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) I moved to work in New York (my time in this lovely city was short and sweet – but its energy is engraved upon my soul). In 2014 I moved to Germany, where I lived one year in Düsseldorf before moving to Berlin in 2015.

Throughout my early freelancer years, I was fortunate to work at high-end motion design studios. Where I met amazing humans and I got to be part of projects for some very cool brands, such as Wacom, SEAT, Fanta, Skype, Ferchau, trivago, Cadillac, Volkswagen, among others.

In 2018, we founded Vexquisit Studio to blend creativity with conscience, focusing on plant-based and vegan missions. We collaborated with like-minded brands to empower them with high-end design and storytelling. Vexquisit closed its virtual doors in the fall of 2024; we had a good run, met incredible people, and learned immensely from the experience.

Back in January 2023, when my kitty Adonis was diagnosed with Feline Diabetes, I was determined to learn everything about it. With support from the kindest corner of the internet, I nurtured him back to health. A year and a half later, this wealth of knowledge gave birth to Adonis Sugar Kitty—an inspiring, educational, and entertaining project reaching millions across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

Here and Now

Today, I'm coming back to also work on external collaborations that align with positive impact values. I'm often present in creative online communities, picking up new ideas and contributing to the conversations that drive us forward.

Offering guidance at School of Motion as a TA , I get to support the growth of new talents in animation, and it's a role I cherish deeply.

    School of Motion     is an amazing online Motion Design schools. Besides great courses the community is very friendly, and supportive to the motion design community’s growth. Joey Korenman (the founder) and his team have created an international family. I’ve been an alumni since 2015. I enjoy to TA (on and off) since 2020. I’ve been a TA for Animation Bootcamp and Advanced Motion Methods. – Not as much as I’d like, since time does not allow. But I absolutely love giving back to the SOM community!
